Barry MacLean


Barry MacLean becomes the first President of K-W United FC. He is also currently President of Beswicks Sports North America after acting as CEO of both Santio Sports + Entertainment and First Wave Sports Marketing. He has been responsible for building those businesses into powerhouses in the North American sports agency business. He built the most reputable international match business in North America, brokering games in almost every major city in Canada and the USA. The scope of the match business included 10 different Premier League teams and some of South America's biggest teams. He has also consulted for MLS teams LA Galaxy, Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps. Most Recently he brokered the $3 million transfer of US international Geoff Cameron from Houston Dynamo to Stoke City of the EPL and the $4 million transfer of Brek Shea from FC Dallas to the EPL.

A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, Barry is an agent licensed by the Canadian Soccer Association. He has been actively working in the international agency market since 1996. Barry has been involved in almost every level of soccer in Canada. He has served as coach, administrator, columnist, and player. As a coach, he has been involved in National and provincial team programs and has coached his university team to 3 Canadian National Championships. He competed as a player where he was honoured as an All-Canadian selection. He was inducted into his university Hall of Fame in 1999.
