K-W United FC played their second to last game of the 2015 PDL season on a rainy afternoon at Kia Training Ground on Tuesday, July 14th as United came up 3-2 winners against Toronto FC Academy.

It was the second match of a home-and-home between the two sides, after they fought to a 2-2 draw in Waterloo on Saturday.

Toronto came out strong from the get go as they won a corner kick in the third minute. Forward Kevin Timachy had the ball fall to him after a scramble in the box from the initial save by United keeper Nathan Ingham, and Timachy finished emphatically.

United head coach Chris Pozniak couldn't have asked for a better response from his team when Ken Krolicki scored just a minute later to even up the score at ones.

The Black and Blue would then take the lead in the 27th minute after a penalty was called against the home side. Captain Sergio Camargo, a former member of the Toronto FC Academy, stepped up and put it away to put his side up 2-1.

Kyle Rutz would extend the visitors lead to two when he picked up a loose ball just outside the Toronto box and slotted it home past Darrin MacLeod to make it 3-1 in the 36th minute.

Toronto would get one back in the 50th minute whenRahim Thorpe made a run into the United penalty area and was hauled down.Martin Davids stepped up and put it past Ingham to cut the lead in half.

That would be as close as they'd come, however, as United escaped 3-2 winners to keep their pursuit of top spot in the Great Lakes Division alive.

Nathan Ingham was named Man of the Match for his performance.

K-W will finish the season at home on July 17th when they take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 7:30pm.
