Liam Collins may have hung up his cleats for K-W United back in 2014, but he wasn't done with soccer yet.

The K-W United alum recently began a new position as a teacher and at the Missouri Military Academy, a private school based in Mexico, Missouri. The school is a selective, all male boarding school, that teaches grades seven to 12. Collins was also hired as the head coach of the soccer team too.

"Right now, I am teaching history and PE at [Missouri Military School and I coach the soccer team in the school also," he said.

Collins has a rich history with soccer. He attended the University of Memphis, picking up tons of accolades along the way. He finished his career at Memphis with 5 goals and 34 assists over 53 games played, taking 52 shots.  He was also named on the All-Conference USA first team twice and on the Second Team All-American Athletic conference once during his time with the club. His 34 career assists

And his playing days are not over.

Collins recently came off captaining Inter Nashville FC in their inaugural year in the National Premier Soccer League. With the team, he captured the southeast conference title with the club and was also named on the NPSL team of the year. Inter Nashville FC went through three top-seeded teams, Chattanooga FC, Knoxville Force and the New Orleans Jesters to capture the title before falling to the Miami Fusion. Collins said that while going deep into the playoffs, he was also named on the NPSL team of the year last year too.

"In terms of playing, I spent the summer playing with Inter Nashville FC and we had a pretty good season," he said. "I was also named on the NPSL team of the year so that was a nice bonus."

Even though Collins' stint with the black and blue was short, he still made the most of it. Collins scored 2 goals over eight shots in 14 games total, and played during their inaugural season. Someday, Collins hopes to return back for a visit, and sees improvement in the club every year.

"Playing at KW was a great experience. It was only the club's first year then but you could tell they were set for big things. The behind the scenes staff is top notch and the players the club have been getting have been better each year," he said. "I really enjoyed my time with KW and have made some life long friends. Someday I would like to try and get back and visit too."
