On Sunday, June 5, 2016, KW United FC, will kick off their home season against the Cincinnati Dutch Lions at 4 pm at University Stadium, Wilfrid Laurier University.

The KW United FC family understand the importance of sport and physical activity for children of all ages and are thrilled to announce their partnership with KidSport. KidSport is a grass roots Canadian, non-profit organization that provides support to under resourced children and youth, 18 years of age and under by removing financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. Kitchener Soccer Club and Waterloo Minor Soccer Club are both active partners of KidSport, integrating children from the KidSport charity into their annual programming.

United owner, Gillian Heidary, spoke to the importance of the program and KW United's involvement:

"All of us at KW are proud to partner with KidSport. People all over the world play soccer and it's important that all children have the opportunity to experience how impactful playing sports can be, physically and mentally. Sports do not just help mold athletes. They help empower the young adults of tomorrow by teaching them the value of teamwork, leadership, dedication and perseverance."

One in three Ontario families cannot afford to register their kids in organized sports programs. There are over 300,000 children in Ontario who are currently living in low income families and are unable to participate in costly sports programming. KW would like to invite you to help support KidSport on Sunday, June 5th, when a portion of all tickets sold at the gate will be donated to this worthy cause. Kids activites, raffles and auctions will be happening throughout game day with all proceeds going to support KW's future superstars!
